(almost) Birthday Batik

Well, it happened.
I got the first order! And there is not any cover, but the bedspread! The real, big ... spends a few days I awake at night;)
I got a few guidelines regarding the possible colors, interior room and overall preference użytkowniczki future, but the most important tip is that the bedspread to be The Horse! I have time to implement a lot, because even a small room under renovation, but scheming, order a sample, and sewing in my mind. The horse
motives are very close to me. Horses fascinate, captivate and inspire Artists of all kinds: painters, photographers, sculptors and poets. I think everyone who ever took up the art of horse knows how difficult it is to give beauty, strength, grace and character of this animal. Not everyone can be Kossak, so personally I prefer the primitive approach to this subject. The first thought is batik. That what I saw in Marty . not know much about batik, in principle, I know it's not. So what is below is just fun and certainly will not be part of the throws;)

first He gathered all my son's crayons.

second I drew on the white canvas of the horse model.

4th Hot wax painted sketch. Wax and cools very quickly (now I already know) you have to paint the hot verbatim so well infiltrated into the fabric.

7th And the lack of paint to fabrics, stained the whole ... ink. After all, it was supposed to be only a sample:)

8th Chilled, chilled and dried as is ironed by the newspaper ... a lot of newspapers, filling the house wax smrodkiem:) I came out something like this:

I am confident that with a little practice and knowledge about the behavior of the wax during application and the press, this process can be done very nice stuff. Maybe I'll try again sometime? And if I order the fabric from overseas;)
